There are 5 terms obtained from the person praying :

1. Allah S.W.T hears that person right away, so he got what was asked.
 
2. Allah S.W.T changes people's demands and gave him salvation from disaster.
 
3. Allah S.W.T answered the demand with a much better change.
 
4. Allah S.W.T suspends people's demands until an appropriate time.
 
5. Allah S.W.T suspends people's demands until his death. His prayer become mistress in the afterlife.



So...just do the best and Allah will do the rest :)
